Are you annoyed of questions in the comments like "How to install this mod?"?
You don't have to be anymore!
Now it's simpler than ever before to install mods, by using the OpenIV package installer 2.0. All you have to do is provide your mods in the .oiv or .zip format and people will easily be able to install your mods
AND THE BEST THING:
All type of mods are supported! ALL!
You can publish content (rpf) mods and just put your .asi or .dll files into the root folder to publish script mods.
And to make the creation of those special zip archives even easier for you, I created this tool, so you just enter all relevant information and it will generate all necessary files.
This is the first tool ever to create .oiv or .zip archives for the new package installer in OpenIV 2.7 and this project got official support from the OpenIV developers (especially GooD-NTS).
Requirements:
- .NET Framework 4.5 or higher
- OpenIV 2.7 Build 679 or later to install the packages
Changelog:
Version 1.02:
Note: This is an older build, my current build is not ready yet, I had to switch back to Windows Forms, new update coming tomorrow!
- ability to open .oiv files for edit (no files will be loaded, only mod information)
- some crash / bug fixing
- better exception handling
Version 1.01:
- UI changes and improvements
- some bug fixing
- better exception handling
Version 1.00:
- Initial release

- Development: Felix Bartling (Reditec)

@Graphicscore @SlyCooper1324 @anees @Pilot077 @Lukong1515 @Krazy @GtaJoeh25 @ICV I decided to continue the development of this tool. More updates this evening. The new tool will be built from scratch and the design and functionalities will differ a little, It will additionally be open source (C#). There will be nightly builts available to testers and stable versions. I cannot use the same installer project for this software, so you must uninstall the current version from your PC before installing the new version. Thank you.
followed yout you tube tutorial, built package get error message 'not valid zip archive? what does this mean love its simplicity
*** IMPORTANT AND USEFUL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS MOD ***
For those of you that are getting errors in the oiv log when trying to install a file within a path that has an "rpf" file in it you have to treat every "rpf" file as an "Archive". I was having a tough time trying to get files within a path that had an .rpf file in it because I was inputting the .rpf file as a "Folder" in the the oiv creator and I kept getting errors everytime. For example, let's say I want to place a "weather.xml" file at: update\update.rpf\common\data\levels\gta5. When creating the files path in the package creator you have to input the data like this:
ROOT
(folder) update
(archive) update.rpf
(folder) common
(folder) data
(folder) levels
(folder) gta5
(file) weather.xml
Keep in mind that you have to treat all ".rpf" files as "Archives" and NOT "folders".
breathtaking when you actually know what it is and what it does. BRAVO 5
I want to add files to an existing OIV file. But when I open it, there are no files in the OpenIV Package Creator.
Whenever I try installing my vehicle mods it doesn't give me the option to install in my "mods" folder despite my having my files there
Works perfectly. Although updating it and adding features like 'drag and drop' would be great!
@JAM102970 I need some help, I want to replace text within an xml using oiv. Any idea how to do that? Any help or pointers are appreciated!
@CaptConfuzed It depends on what type of text you want to replace. there are two types of texts when it comes to oiv xml files. A "reference" text is basically a personal description you type in to remind yourself of what any particular path does in the xml file but this type of text is only for self-informative purposes and it's non-executable text which can be simply changed opening the xml file with Notepad++ and finding the text you want to retype. The second type of text is an "executable" text, an "executable" text is a command text that executes a directive or gives intructions within the xml for when the oiv is installed. If it is an "executable" text you need to change you cannot change it opening the xml after the oiv has been created because it will mess up the oiv package and you will get an error when attempting to install. The xml is auto-generated after you create the oiv not the other way around so if it is an "executable" command you need to change you must change it while you're creating the oiv. This particular oiv package creator by Felix Bartling is very basic, I only use this one if I need to do a very simple oiv with very simple instructions with minimum content. The one I use more often for more complex instructions and extended content is the OpenIV Package Manger 1.0 from KR4N3N64. That one has added support for Text and XML command modifications. If you're interested on downloading that one here's the link > https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/openiv-package-manager. Once you download that one you will need to recreate the oiv you did with this package creator from scratch because xml files created by one package creator are not compatible with each other. Then you have to make the the appropriate command text change as you're re-building your oiv package, however like I mentioned, if it is only a "reference" text you want to change then that's as simple as opening your current xml file with Notepad++ and changing the text. "Reference" text are usually enclosed within "quotes" in the xml file.
@JAM102970 Thanks, I'll have a look at the new one.
I actually have created oiv packages manually, but don't know how to set them to just change a line of text in an existing xml file.
Basically, I want to create a 'patch' for a script, and not replace the whole file.
when i need install my oiv to mods it's tell me (this package cannot be installed into mods folder because it does not affect any RPF archives
Hi how to create one file which will for example contain 5 cars. Not like in the movie, only 5in1
Very nice mod, but an update would be nice. I hope you will add a feature to add multiple files at one time. Sorry for bad english.
Can not extract ?
@R-Y-Z-O-N Sorunu çözebildinizmi 1000 dosya var tek tek seçmek çok zor oluyor?
@JAM102970 I cannot add more than one file. There are 1000 files. It is difficult to select one by one. Is there a solution to this?
@UGUR PRODUCTION This is a simplified version of an oiv creator, this one is fairly easy to use but unfortunately Felix, the creator of this mod, didn't implemented the feature to add multiple files at once so whenever you use this oiv creator to add files you have to add 'em one by one, which is very tedius to do but, there's another version of an oiv creator that does allows you to add multiple files at once but, that one is not as simple to use as this one. If you want to download that version this is the link to that one > https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/openiv-package-manager
It's great for selecting colors and generating hash. But that's about it as for functioning. Puts files in crazy folder format that no one can follow if they want to manually install.
Many Thx Sir Kindly add instagram link and discord and youtube link not working please fix this bug and thnxks alot
How to install?
