@Effengi For some reason 5MODS isn't notifying me of your comments. Thanks for the feedback, I might look into it in my spare time. I hope your friend's administrator issue gets resolved.
To anyone having issues:
- if you can: port forward 6672
- disable or make an exception in your antivirus
- make sure your NAT type is not strict
- can't connect to a public lobby anymore? (can't really happen codewise but ok)
run the following commands in cmd as administrator to make sure:
netsh advfirewall firewall delete rule name=”GTA5 CodeSwine - Private Public Lobby Inbound” dir=in
netsh advfirewall firewall delete rule name=”GTA5 CodeSwine - Private Public Lobby Outbound” dir=out
@Effengi Hi Effengi, thanks for the fair rating and mentioning your fix. Been very busy and didn't have time to check forums lately. To anyone having similar issues, please check your NAT type using any tool, it shouldn't be strict.
@Effengi I'm not sure how to address this issue as I don't have two computers to test this on. As of my understanding it is you that need to add his local IP-Address like you said. Maybe try adding both his public and local address?
Also, when joining an empty session, most of the times you stay solo so just deactivate and invite your friends.
@Takazawa It could also be due to the nature of the code, it actually adds firwall rules on the fly and Windows might think the program opens ports with malicious intent.
@Takazawa Yes, kind of weird as Virustotal returns nothing. Did you download it from here or from a mirror? You can always go check my GitHub and download it from there.
@timdo39 Small addition to my last comment, the normal behaviour of the program is to delete any previous rules. It'd be weird if there were still any rules left. The rulesname start with 'GTA 5'.
@timdo39 Sorry for the late reply, you should go to advanced firewall settings and remove the rules that start or contain the word CodeSwine.
@amdistv Might be that you need to add his local IPv4 address to the whitelist as the game is peer to peer.
@amdistv Is your brother on the same network? Not sure if that makes a difference but I could check it out.
