GTA 5.5 tldr; better graphics, better weather, better driving, more nice cars to steal, more interesting things that can happen if you do, better gangs, better peds, better shootouts, more interesting but easier police, topped off with some more realism and immersion
Please note: this mod does not effect timescale or speed up time - I did that in the video to demonstrate the timecycles

You can reinstall this mod WITHOUT the included update.rpf/common/data/gameconfig.xml file until I provide a new update

World & Graphics
‣ More reflections
‣ Render distances increased for various lights - traffic, street, misc
‣ Street lights brighter and new dust effect added
‣ Everything crisper with more contrast and less gamma. Reduced ever-present fog to realistic levels and colour.
‣ Removed all camera effects from first person view
‣ Sunlight is much brighter, shadows darker
‣ Subtle heat haze effect added around peak times (midday) out in the country especially
‣ Rain thicker, effecting visibility a lot more and darkening the sky more. Thunder nights are dangerous
‣ Night times much, much darker, particularly in the countryside

‣ Complex, hand-crafted traffic systems across the world, heavily incorporating day & night cycles with busy rush hour traffic, quiet residential roads at night with lots of parked cars, and so on
‣ Carefully selected DLC vehicles added to traffic with paint variety, in some cases manufacturer paints for the real life version of that car. Also more variations of utility vehicles, limousines and motorcycles.
‣ New variations of taxi based on common LA taxi colours in real life
‣ A lot more taxis, especially at night in vinewood and other popular night spots
‣ Faster AI drivers
‣ Faster boats & planes
‣ Vehicle render distance increased
‣ Headlight, brake light, dashboard light etc casting distances and render distances modified to match real life, including for NPC vehicles
‣ Realistically intense neons & draw distance increased
‣ Powerful emergency vehicle lights which reach across streets
‣ Realistic light coronas - less noticeable normally but blinding during rain
Police
‣ Patrolling the streets in a variety of vehicles, mostly in tourist spots during the day and gang zones at night
‣ Realistic dispatch system that takes time to send units from around the city - no more teleporting police
‣ Chance to not even see police when low level wanted
‣ Evade wanted state by fleeing and then hiding
‣ Police carry a wider variety of weapons
‣ Forces are more diverse, with a range of police types from officers to detectives to SWAT to special agents
‣ Tactics improved - more likely to perform PIT manoeuvres and less likely to be easily outrun
Gangs
‣ Gangs take over parts of the city at night, mainly south central LS (davis, strawberry etc)
‣ Gang members likely to be found driving cool cars, with cool music and passengers
‣ Fights and gunfights break out often, with realistic popular street choice weapons such as machetes, glock18 and uzi and variation depending the type of gang - black gangs prefer machine pistols, chinese prefer higher quality, hillbillys use backwoods shotgun and such
‣ Fighting localised mostly to hood areas at night
‣ Complex relationship system - some gangs allied, some join fights but won't start them, etc
‣ Some may commit hatecrimes against gays
‣ General crime increased and complexity raised
Peds
‣ Higher density
‣ Complex, hand-crafted pedestrian systems also, with busy rush hours and a strong variation between day and night
‣ AI behaviour more random
‣ People converse faster and more often
‣ All people have a chance to carry a weapon, usually a taser or basic melee like broken bottle, but that grandma could be packing heat!
‣ Melee damage reduced to accommodate better melee fighting
‣ Weapon impacts reduced so that people die realistically
Installation
‣ Use OpenIV to open the archives as shown in this folder and place the files in the corresponding locations within your GTA V directory.
‣ Files located within update/update.rpf inside this zip should be placed inside Grand Theft Auto V/update/update.rpf
‣ Recommended to use "mods folder" function provided by OpenIV.asi
‣ You can/should also create a copy of update.rpf before adding these files, so you can easily replace the backup if you don't like it
Known issues
‣ Headlight light cast travels through some objects, most noticeably bridges
‣ People will occasionally dive out of vehicles
‣ This won't be the best police overhaul, but should be compatible with any others, just install them after this

Since this mod pretty much just replaces vanilla systems and files, you should be okay installing *anything* else AFTER this. You *should* only ever lose some features of this, but not have borked game :)
P.s.
About the "keeping track of cars" you will notice it much more if you do it yourself in game.
It is so much more easier to keep the mouse on the cars going by when you are set at 0.79X.
@Spacial3D Hey. That is some incredible attention to detail which I very much respect :) however, I don't personally use third person camera ever, and have no knowledge of how the game is handling that stuff. I have max FOV setting in first person view so ig I'm ok tbh. Hate to be an "I'm alright jack" guy but I wouldn't know where to begin with this, I'm sorry. If you do find out how to mod that, I'd be happy to include it in this mod, if I understand correctly what it would do. Keep on gods work brother hehe

But can you elaborate on what you did here;

And secondly is the mod; (extended camera settings) compatible with your mod ?
I guess I was just being laze and hoping having everything in one mod ready to go would be nice, not having to constantly activate the settings and or update when it stops working ect..
If you want to understand what I mean more, just make a small recording (F1) and go edit the video in the Rockstar editor, choose the free camera and play with the zoom.
And again to be clear, what I'm talking about is that Rockstar did not make the camera the same for all situations and I want to fix that.
So using the mod I make it so that the camera settings stay the same (stay good) either you are in first person or third person the view or visuals are the same, You can test that with how you play right now;
When in first person fix you eyes on a sky scrapper in the distance, and switch to third person, you will notice the building got larger !
That's 12% larger, everything got distorted and compressed toward the character.
Enabling and changing the camera settings of the third person view by +one click fixes that !
Oh I think you have to record in third person view if you want to play with the zoom in the Rockstar editor.
@Spacial3D I get ya. FOV bothers me too. Rarely is 120 available in games, which I understood to be human FOV range. That said, it's hard to play with and I kinda get why it's rarely there.
My mod is purely editing original game files and not adding any new systems, but if I new the files to control FOV I would tell you.
The camera effects I removed was lens flare and maybe lens dirt or something, I forget :)
Is there a way to remove the handling changes and keep the rest?
i assume this is not comp with nve+5real... the mob is forming.

In my opinion, since you play in first person, the only 2 things you could benefit from is to get rid of the speed zoom and altitude zoom.
The 120 is for your eyes, it is a little different when translated to a monitor (21" up to 60" wide), and even most vr headset are limited 90 degree maybe more....
One of the ways to judge proper adjustment is when you are playing in first person and you look down at your feet,,, are they naturally at 5 to 6 feet away or are they unrealistically 3 feet away or 12 feet away ?

hey what should i change to make the police dispatch more quickly, I made my own dispatch but the TRU/NOOSE/FIB i added to level 4 and 5 don't seems to spawn at all
