yes, but I am in Canada and no one uses the term Chav, I looked it up it and it pretty much describes 80% of the population of the country so I can see why it never gained popularity lol

i think our closest approximation would have to be... hmmmm.... ya I don't think there is a common slang equivalent to that here, if there was the person using it would probably get there ass kicked

sometimes a family has so many chav's that there last name is used in that fashion as an insult though

i remember having a similar conversation with some loyalist gentlemen at a local pub.
